Congratulations!
You did it!!— You made it!
Well, almost…
I think we can all agree that this has been one of the most exhausting, discouraging, and toxic election cycles of our lifetimes (if not longer)… and I, for one, can’t wait to put it behind me.
However, personal feelings aside, we here at Lux Lab Production House still want to wish you a “Happy Election Day!”
But if you’re wondering why exactly it is “happy”— no matter the outcome, here are 3 quick reasons:
Reason #1: Because we have the privilege of participating in our Nation’s democratic process.
Regardless of how we feel about it, or how the past few months have gone, "politics" doesn’t have to be a dirty word.
In fact, I recently learned that the word’s Greek origins, essentially translate as "city" or "citizen." So, really, it has less to do with the elaborate theatrics and posturing we have come to expect every 4 years, and it has more to do with things we all have in common— the shared place where we live, work, and interact with each other as well as our common identity as National "neighbors" (despite the geographic or ideological distances between us).
Whatever happens, together, we can choose to make a "fresh start."
Let’s embrace a renewed disposition of civility, patience, and gratitude— seeking to recognize the common humanity in our coworkers, friends, and family because it’s right here — heart speaking to heart— where "politics" begin.
Reason #2: (Even more importantly) — because at the end of the day, God is still in control.
Wait. What does religion have to do with politics? Or business for that matter? Well, frankly, EVERYTHING.
If this past year has taught us anything— it is that we can’t put our hope in the economy (our own financial security), our political leaders (how disappointing!), or even our own hard work & accomplishments (how many of us and/or the people we love have faced losses, through no fault of our own?).
Scripture tells us:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
- John 14:27
The takeaway?
The lasting peace that the Lord offers us is far greater than any assurances the world can give. Only in Christ Jesus will we find the rest and the security we long for.
Reason #3: It will still be our pleasure to serve you and your needs into the future.
